Skilled Rehabilitation Therapy

Skilled Therapy at Apostolic Christian Skylines is available to all Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living residents.

Physical Therapy is meant to promote the resident’s ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. One of the primary goals of Occupational Therapy is to enable the resident to participate more fully in the activities of daily living, such as dressing, eating, grooming, and bathing. The goals of Speech Therapy for older adults can include safe swallowing and improving functional communication and cognitive skills.

Skylines Therapy Options

All therapy is patient-focused and is designed for the individual.
Physical, occupational, and speech therapy are all typically covered by Medicare.

Physical Therapy

Skylines physical therapy includes balance & gait training, strength training, incontinence training, chronic pain management, and osteoporosis program.

Occupational Therapy

Skylines occupational therapy includes home assessments/safety training, low vision therapy, range of motion, strengthening & coordination, ADL retraining.

Speech Therapy

Skylines speech therapy includes evaluation and treatment of many conditions including strokes, Parkinson's, swallowing dysfunctions and other degenerative diseases.

Physical Rehab Program

The Physical Rehab Program is a service available to all Apostolic Christian Skylines residents. Individual goals are developed by a licensed Physical Therapist and approved by a Physician. The program is staffed by certified Rehabilitation Aides.

Residents are assisted in maintaining and/or improving their physical capabilities, such as: walking, strength, balance, coordination and safety.
The Skylines Therapy Gym offers a variety of equipment: exercise equipment that has low impact to joints, resistance equipment to build strength, and balance equipment for maintaining stability.

Health & Fitness Program

Health and Fitness is for residents with higher levels of function. A licensed Physical Therapist offers guidance to develop a plan of care to meet the needs recommended by your physician.

Participants who are able may utilize the equipment independently or Rehab Aides can provide minimal assistance.
Health and Fitness goals are to maintain and/or improve overall physical capabilities.
